03:02 is a thriller science fiction dystopia written by
Mainak Dhar. A graduate from IIM Ahemdabad, he has spent two decades in the
corporate sector. A self described cubicle dweller by day & writer by
night, he has written more than a dozen books some of them have been
bestsellers in India as well as abroad. His books have also been translated
into many different languages. Currently he lives in Mumbai with his wife &
son.
The story starts with our protagonist Aditya being promoted
to the post of Vice President for which he has been working very hard at the
firm. Feeling euphoric he partied along with his colleagues till late at night
but unfortunately the he couldn’t experience his new job profile as he woke up
he realises that the whole city of Mumbai has lost power but for some weird
reason the airport was brightly lit. As time passed, our protagonist along with
other citizens realised that its not just the electricity that’s not available
but also all other devices which uses electricity or some kind of chip has also
stopped working. As the story unravels we learn that its not just some random
event but a planned attack & the only ones who can help them are
themselves. This story is about how sometimes the citizens need to take charge
& stop depending on others, its time to fight a common enemy & hiding

I’ll start with the plot which is truly mind blowing, the
story in whole is extremely well written & keeps up the pace which is quite
important in a story like this. Though there are some parts which could’ve been
trimmed so that those parts which seem a bit loose could’ve been omitted which
honestly I expected from an author who has written so many books. The language
is easy to comprehend & relate with. I liked the cover very much especially
the soldier’s pic, also the title have been chosen very wisely it shows out of
the box thinking. In all this book shouldn’t be missed.
